This weekend Ryan and I thought it would be spontaneous and very cool to see Drake and Miguel in concert. It was the first weekend I didn't have to dance at a home football game so why not live it up? The festival was held on the National Mall, so on top of being able to see some of my favorite artists live, we also got a chance to take some nice pictures near the city's most historical monuments. The weather was cloudy, but you couldn't tell because of all of the vibrant and colorful outfits people were rocking. People-watching is one of my favorite hobbies, so I was in heaven.
Out of nowhere Ryan shouts, "BROTHA" so I know Miguel is on. And when I say he rocked the stage! Ryan and I came to the conclusion that he's our generation's Lenny Kravitz. Between the tight leather pants and the fringed microphone stand, Miguel is a certified rock star... with the soulful voice of an R&B angel. He is just simply a great performer and engaged the audience every second he was on stage.
And then there was Drake aka 6God aka Aubrey Graham. If anyone knows me, they know that I am a die-hard Drake fan and he can do no wrong in my eyes. With that being said, I don't have much to say about his performance other than... 100. He performed almost every hit, which made me realize how long Drake had been in the game because he was performing songs from my freshman year of high school. I was still rapping every word lol Crazy. His set was great, the audience ate it up, and there were overall great vibes at the festival. It was my first time going to the Landmark Festival, and I definitely give it an A+. Thank you D.C. Here are some pics we took from the weekend.
